Your Voice is Your Superpower – Use it
Don’t expect your congressperson, political party, or the media to protect you.
Your Voice is Your Superpower
Congressional staff constantly monitor contact with their member of Congress, both in terms of email and social media postings. Regular reports are sent to the Congressperson summarizing public comments and sentiment.
THINGS TO NOTE: A member of the House or Senate is only responsive to constituents in their specific district or state. We have been told that some people use sites like Realtor.com, Redfin.com or Zillow.com to identify addresses in the Representative’s district to qualify their address for email screens. To identify the cities served by the representative, click on the district next to the name below.
Social Media like Facebook does not identify a person’s place of residence.
Who represents me in Congress?
Here is a useful tool https://votevoice.org/congress/
BE RESPECTFUL: You will get a better result. Also, be brief and specific.
For example,
ICE – “I am against the heavy-handed treatment of Immigrants by ICE. We were originally promised that only the worst illegal immigrants would be deported, but I am seeing many cases of masked ICE agents just trying to meet a quota”.
Tariffs– “I voted for you to begin bringing the prices of everyday items down, especially food. However, my prices continue to increase, and the tariffs are making it worse. It is time to stop the tariff tax.”
Balance of Power – ” I count on you as my representative in Congress to be an effective check on Presidential powers. Please stand up to the abuses that are so abundant.”
Rather than complain to like-minded friends, take a few minutes to contact Congress and make your thoughts known. It is MUCH more effective. and urge your friends to do the same.
At the end of the day, Congress is very focused on getting reelected, which means getting your vote.
